Depending on how you use Travus, we may collect:

• Account and authentication: Email address, name, username, password (stored securely), date of birth (used to verify you meet our age requirement and to display age where the app shows it), and optional phone number. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive identifiers and profile details allowed by that provider; those services have their own privacy notices.
• Profile information: Profile photo, bio, travel preferences, and other fields you choose to add in the app.
• Location: Approximate or precise location only when you grant permission, for features such as discovering trips and trip-related context.
• Trips and social features: Trips you create or join, applications to trips, match status, messages between users, co-traveler ratings after trips, and safety-related actions such as reports and blocks.
• Identity verification (KYC): When you start verification, identity documents and related verification data are collected and processed by our verification partner Sumsub according to their terms and this policy.
• Purchases: If you buy identity verification or a Travus Plus subscription, Apple processes payment. We receive transaction identifiers and entitlement status from Apple, not your full card details.
• Device and technical data: Device type, operating system version, push notification tokens, and diagnostic information needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

• Create and maintain your account and profile
• Show you relevant trips, matches, and messages
• Operate identity verification and enforce eligibility (for example, trip creation where verification is required)
• Apply subscription and usage limits for Free vs Plus plans
• Keep the community safer (moderation, reports, fraud prevention)
• Send service-related notifications when you opt in (including push notifications)
• Comply with law and respond to lawful requests

4. How We Share Information

We may share personal information with:

• Sumsub: To perform identity verification and related compliance checks
• Apple and Google: When you use Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or Apple In-App Purchases, their services process data under their respective policies
• Service providers: Hosting, infrastructure, or support vendors who process data only on our instructions
• Legal and safety: When required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and Travus

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their independent marketing.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request account deletion in the app where available, or by contacting us; some records may be retained where law requires.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) for our API and secure storage practices. Credentials such as passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

8. Cookies and Tracking in the App

The Travus mobile app does not use browser cookies. We do not integrate third-party advertising networks in the app for behavioral ads. Apple may process data related to App Store purchases and device analytics under Apple’s privacy policy.

9. Children

Travus is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. International Users

Our servers and partners may be located in countries other than yours. By using Travus, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries, where privacy laws may differ.
